Cada vez mais perto do Botafogo, o atacante Kieza já até treina nas dependências do Nilton Santos. Nesta terça-feira, o candidato à camisa 9 participou da atividade de reapresentação, que contou ainda com os reservas. Os titulares fizeram exames de rotina e não treinaram.

A atividade foi fechada à imprensa, mas o fato de aparecer suado na zona comum para a imprensa e os atletas “entregou” que ele fez o primeiro treino. O centroavante está no Rio desde o último domingo e na última segunda-feira foi aprovados nos exames médicos.

Ele chega ao Botafogo para ser reforço pela duas próximas temporadas. Kieza tem 31 anos e vem sem custos para o Alvinegro, que convenceu o Vitória a liberá-lo para o Glorioso. Inclusive, é a rescisão do contrato do atacante com o clube baiano um dos empecilhos para o anúncio do Botafogo.

Kieza já fez três partidas em 2018, sendo duas pelo Campeonato Baiano e outra pela Copa do Nordeste. Na última temporada, quando sofreu com lesões, ele marcou 12 gols em 31 jogos. A carreira do atleta ainda conta com passagens por Fluminense, Americano, Serra (ES), Náutico, Cruzeiro, Ponte Preta, Bahia e São Paulo.

Having said goodbye to Adama Traore during the recent January transfer window on a loan deal to Barcelona with a permanent move in the summer being a possibility, it seems as though Wolves could lose one of their other prominent figures in the same window.

What’s the news?

According to a recent report from talkSPORT, Wolves defender Max Kilman is being eyed up by fellow Premier League side Chelsea for a potential summer transfer move.

Since joining the Midlands club back in the 2018 summer window on a free transfer from Maidenhead United, the 24-year-old has gone on to make 60 senior appearances for the Old Gold across all competitions, chipping in with one goal and two assists along the way.

Lage would be furious

Having racked up more minutes in the Premier League this season than any other outfield Wolves player, it shows just how highly-rated and important Kilman is by his manager Bruno Lage.

With an overall performance rating of 7/10, making him the fourth-highest rated Wolves player in the league this season according to WhoScored, it’s safe to say that Lage would be rather unhappy to see the centre-back leave Molineux this summer for a move to Chelsea.

After all, this is a player who has won more tackles per game (1.7) than any other Wolves centre-half this term and somebody who has made the most interceptions a match (1.8). Evidently, he is a key cog in the wheel and replacing him astutely would be a tall order for the club’s hierarchy.

However, with the Englishman’s current contract at Wolves not due to expire until 2026 and the fact that Lage’s side are on the hunt to secure European football by the end of the season, this could work in the club’s favour to keep Kilman where he is for the time being.

That said, if Wolves did indeed end up selling the defender to Chelsea this summer, it would surely be an unforgivable calamity from Fosun to get rid of one of the club’s most important and prominent figures, who is currently on course to have a long career at Molineux.

On the other hand, if Wolves were to ask for a hefty transfer fee from the west London club if they do make an approach for Kilman, they could then use that fee to sign a replacement for him if Chelsea were willing to splash the cash to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Leeds United will look to strengthen in central midfield and at right-back during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Lowdown: No signings made

There was hope that the Whites would make key additions at some point in January but the failed attempts to land number one target Brenden Aaronson seemingly put paid to those chances.

Instead, Marcelo Bielsa will battle on with the same group of players, as he hopes to get important figures back from injury and pull clear of the relegation battle.

Summer signings will surely be a given, however, considering the lack of investment last month, and a fresh update has now emerged on the matter.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, O’Rourke highlighted the two areas in which Leeds will be aiming to add depth in:

“I think that centre mid and right back will become more of a priority for Leeds in the summer.”

The Verdict: Makes complete sense

Midfield and right-back certainly look like key areas to focus on, especially if Kalvin Phillips ends up moving on to pastures new at the end of the season.

The hope is that he stays, of course – there is currently little reason why he won’t – but even if he does, there is still a need to bring in another quality option, with Adam Forshaw an injury-plagued figure and little other depth behind the pair.

At right-back, Luke Ayling turns 31 this year and could arguably be past his very best, so bringing in strong competition for him also makes perfect sense, allowing versatile players like Jamie Shackleton to play further forward. Ayling has had long-term injuries of his own, too, which may have taken an edge off his game.

Em 2017, Wagner não conseguiu se firmar como titular do Vasco por conta das lesões que sofreu. Anunciado pelo clube em meados de janeiro do ano passado, o meia pegou a pré-temporada em andamento e isso prejudicou seu desempenho dentro de campo. Agora, começando a preparação junto com o elenco, ele espera ficar longe do departamento médico e conseguir uma sequência na equipe do técnico Zé Ricardo.

-A pré-temporada é muito importante porque é a base que temos no ano, para prevenção, para ter aquele gás no momento certo. No ano passado eu peguei a pré-temporada em andamento e, coincidentemente, foi o ano em que mais tive contusões, foram quatro. Esse ano, pegando o trabalho desde o início, vai dar suporte para a sequência, minimizando essa questão de lesões e podendo estar mais tempo dentro de campo – disse Wagner ao site oficial do Vasco, destacando que o grupo fez uma boa pré-temporada e vai chegar bem para a estreia do Carioca, na próxima quinta-feira, contra o Bangu.

– Trabalhamos bem durante essas duas semanas. Vamos chegar bem no campeonato porque a pré-temporada foi muito positiva, o retorno foi positivo. Não tivemos problemas musculares no grupo, a equipe está mantendo jogadores do ano passado, mantendo a base. Isso vai dar suporte para os jogadores que estão chegando se encaixarem – completou.

Nesta temporada, o Cruz-Maltino já começo cedo os compromissos, já que o Estadual começou antes por conta da Copa do Mundo. Além disso, os primeiros duelos pela Libertadores já são nos dias 31 de janeiro e 7 de fevereiro, contra a Universidad Concépcion, do Chile. Wagner diz que a expectativa é boa para a temporada.

-A expectativa é boa. A equipe está madura, tem mais jogadores novos do que tivemos no ano passado. Espero poder estar contribuindo mais do que na temporada passada, estando mais presente nas partidas. Que possam sair mais gols e mais assistências também. O nosso foco principal é a Libertadores, não vamos mentir. The Lowdown: Quiet day

It has been a quiet end to the window so far in terms of incomings, with Michael Nicholson and Ange Postecoglou already completing five signings this month.

Three of those were sorted on New Year’s Eve, with Johnny Kenny and Matt O’Riley also moving to Glasgow on permanent deals.

Osaze Urhoghide has sealed a switch to KV Oostende on deadline day, but O’Rourke thinks the Hoops could have a final surprise up their sleeves.

The Latest: O’Rourke’s comments

Talking to GiveMeSport in a story released on Monday afternoon, O’Rourke said that Postecoglou could consider a move for a wide forward.

“I keep hearing how a wide attacker could be in Ange Postecoglou’s thoughts as well if the right option comes up.

“I still think if the right offer or the right players out there, they still might try and bring somebody in just to bolster the squad, especially with their injury problems and if they want to try and catch Rangers and win the Scottish Premiership this season.”

The Verdict: Another Carter-Vickers style deal?

Time is ticking and it looks as if Celtic will end their business on five additions.

However, saying that, they could look to push through a permanent deal for loanee Jota in the final hours if their desire for a wide signing is true.

The Hoops have previous of a late move coming out of nowhere, with Cameron Carter-Vickers’ move in the summer materialising with hours to go and being announced just minutes before midnight.

They have reportedly been working on a full-time transfer since the start of the month for both loanees and have a £6.5m option in the agreement for the Portuguese winger. That could be one to watch, but in terms of fresh faces, the Hoops appear to be done until the summer.

O Changchun Yatai, da China, já fez pelo menos quatro tentativas de contratar Dudu. Na última delas, ofereceu 13 milhões de euros (quase R$ 51 milhões), bem mais do que os 6 milhões de euros que o Palmeiras pagou ao Dinamo de Kiev para ter 100% dos direitos econômicos do atacante. Se fosse outro jogador, provavelmente já teria saído. Mas trata-se de um atleta que “não tem preço” para o clube.

O Palmeiras não tem a menor pressa para vendê-lo. Para que isso aconteça, duas coisas são necessárias: uma oferta bem superior aos 13 milhões de euros (o clube não estipula um valor) e o desejo do jogador. Por enquanto, ele não deu mostras de que deseja sair. Com contrato até dezembro de 2020 – ganhou aumento em fevereiro do ano passado -, diz que ainda quer permanecer por muitos anos.

Essa postura irredutível do Palmeiras só é possível graças à estabilidade financeira do clube. Uma venda deste porte, obviamente, daria fôlego extra ao caixa e ajudaria o presidente Maurício Galiotte a cumprir a promessa de zerar as dívidas, mas a diretoria não está desesperada para ganhar dinheiro.

A negociação de Yerry Mina com o Barcelona foi uma prova disso: se os catalães não aceitassem todas as condições impostas pelo Verdão, o zagueiro colombiano não seria liberado em janeiro.

A questão técnica também tem peso importante. Dudu é titular absoluto do Palmeiras e o elenco não tem outro atleta com suas características. Em três anos de clube, o camisa 7 disputou 162 jogos, marcou 41 gols e deu 36 assistências. Além de construtor de jogadas, ele também se tornou um bom definidor.

Dudu chegou ao Palmeiras com fama de marcar poucos gols, mas hoje é o maior goleador do Allianz Parque (22 gols), o maior goleador do Palmeiras no Brasileirão por pontos corridos (25 gols) e o maior goleador do atual elenco em clássicos (7 gols).

Por fim, o fator extracampo. Apesar das pomposas ofertas salariais que Dudu recebe de outros clubes (o Changchun Yatai, por exemplo, acenou com 4 milhões de euros por ano), diretoria e comissão técnica avaliam que ele não perde o foco. Não à toa, é capitão do time desde 2016.

Usar a braçadeira, aliás, era algo inimaginável para o atacante em seus primeiros meses de Palmeiras. Quem convive com ele na Academia se espanta com a mudança de sua personalidade de 2015 para cá: o Dudu tímido, que andava com a cabeça baixa e falava pouco, deu lugar a um Dudu mais maduro, que reconhece sua importância, sabe a hora de aparecer para dar entrevistas e exerce cada vez mais um papel de liderança.

Talvez nem Alexandre Mattos imaginasse, quando atravessou Corinthians e São Paulo para contratá-lo, que Dudu se tornaria referência tão grande para a torcida do clube. O mesmo se aplica aos jovens jogadores. Artur, nesta semana, não fez questão de esconder que o enxerga como um ídolo.

Clubes turcos, como Besiktas e Fenerbahce, também já fizeram ofertas pelo camisa 7 ao longo dos últimos anos.

A noite da última quarta-feira ficou marcada pelo reencontro de Adriano com a torcida do Flamengo e com o Maracanã, depois de sete anos. O atacante recebeu muito carinho e revelou que terá uma reunião com a diretoria do Flamengo para decidir o futuro. O clube está disposto a ajudar na recuperação do atleta.

– Vamos conversar e vamos ver o que vai acontecer. Vamos fazer um trabalho bom, para voltar o mais rápido possível. Estou feliz. Mandei duas na trave e no fim consegui fazer o gol. Depois de tanto tempo, voltar ao Maracanã com minha torcida é muita emoção – disse Adriano ao SporTV.

O Imperador fez questão de ressaltar a forte emoção que sentiu no estádio e lembrou dos momentos que teve por lá com a camisa do Flamengo.

– Está tudo caminhando. Devagarzinho estou tentando reconstruir. Estou feliz de pisar no Maracanã novamente. Emociona muito viver tudo isso. Saímos daqui com o título em 2009, jogar com grandes ídolos no futebol brasileiro e ser respeitado por todos. É mais uma prova que o Adriano, como pessoa, foi sempre respeitado.

Aos 35 anos, Adriano admitiu que não está totalmente em forma, mas também fez questão de avisar que não longe do ideal. Para o atacante, o carinho das pessoas próximas será fundamental para o seu retorno.
