An astonishing innings from Peter Borren propelled Holland to their third win of the Clydesdale Bank 40 season against Kent. The Dutch captain hammered 71 not out from just 33 balls to see his side to 206 for 8 in a game reduced to 37 overs a side after rain delayed the start. And opening bowlers Shane Mott and Mudassar Bukhari combined for five wickets as Kent were then rolled over for 165 more than two overs inside their abridged allocation.Kent won the toss and chose to field first in Rotterdam and the hosts quickly lost Michael Swart for a second-ball duck. But opening partner Eric Swarczynski (43) and Tom Cooper (38) put on 75 for the second wicket before three quick wickets left Holland 87 for 4.Wesley Barresi and Tom de Grooth failed to make much impression but Borren then showed his troops how it was done. The powerful New Zealand-born allrounder launched six sixes and added four fours as he wrested the initiative back the home side’s way and put on 47 with Bukhari and 30 with No. 10 Tom Heggelman.An eccentric Kent bowling card saw bit-part spinner Joe Denly pick up 3 for 42 and Darren Stevens 2 for 51, while James Tredwell bowled only three overs. The total still looked merely competitive, particularly when Kent reached 143 for three thanks to Denly (46), Sam Northeast (21) and Martin van Jaarsveld, who top-scored with 61 from 51 balls.But when his dismissal, by Bukhari, swiftly followed the loss of Alex Blake for 10, the Kent middle and lower order folded. Debutants Sam Billings and Chris Piesley fell in single figures, Tredwell and David Balcombe followed and when last man Ashley Shaw was run out, Kent had lost seven wickets for 22 runs to lose by 40 runs after a Duckworth-Lewis revision.Mott finished with 3 for 27 and Bukhari 2 for 24, left-arm spinner Pieter Seelaar adding 2 for 36.

On as early as the 17th over after Durham won the toss for the third successivegame, Panesar commanded respect without threatening to take wickets until hesuddenly captured his first two in his 19th and 21st overs.Ben Stokes had been tied down but two balls after advancing to drive a six over long-on he sat back to force a back-foot shot through the off-side and got an inside edge into his stumps. Dale Benkenstein popped up a catch to short leg and Panesar had bowled 25 overs for 55 runs when Scott Borthwick set about him.Crisp strokes on both sides of the wicket produced six fours off the spinner, including four off successive balls, and the young allrounder succeeded in having Panesar briefly removed from the attack. Borthwick’s knock of 35 ended when he edged to wicketkeeper Ben Brown to giveAmjad Khan a third wicket, and Panesar returned to claim two lbw verdicts and finish with 4 for 88.Durham’s slide started when Muchall miscued an attempted pull off James Anyon, skying a catch to mid-on. Muchall had taken up where Michael Di Venuto left off, the opener having scored30 off 33 balls before falling lbw to the first ball when Anyon came on for the ninth over. The left-hander was looking to work the ball to leg.Muchall raced past anchor man Will Smith and dominated a stand of 129, hitting 13 fours in making 74 off 119 balls. Smith made 59 before edging a drive at Rana Naved-ul-Hasan to first slip and wicketkeeper Michael Richardson, again deputising for the injured Phil Mustard,perished in similar fashion to give Khan his first wicket. This time the ball flew to second slip, where Joyce held a good catch.Khan’s second wicket swiftly followed when Ian Blackwell drove loosely wide of off stump and played on for 19, leaving Borthwick to harvest what runs he could accompanied by a tail lengthened by Plunkett’s absence.

“A CBF informa que a partir desta segunda-feira, 14, sua sede passará a se chamar Edifício Casa do Futebol Brasileiro. O objetivo da entidade é deixar de lado a personalização dos espaços institucionais, substituindo por uma nomenclatura que represente todos os protagonistas do futebol do Brasil.”

في البداية رد ميدو على سؤال بشأن إمكانية توليه قيادة منتخب مصر في وقت ما، فأجاب: “لدينا مدير فني محترم جدًا، روي فيتوريا، فهو واحد من المدربين الكبار في عالم كرة القدم، ونجاح كبير لاتحاد الكرة أنهم تمكنوا من التعاقد مع اسم كبير مثله”.

وتابع في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “المحور”: “فيتوريا يريد النجاح مع المنتخب، فهو مدرب مكافح ومحترم وصاحب (بال طويل)، أحلم أن أكون مدربًا لمنتخب مصر في يوم من الأيام وهذا شرف لأي مدرب مصري”.

وأوضح: “قمت بتدريب الزمالك من قبل وأنا في عمر الـ30 سنة في وقت صعب جدًا وخضت تجربة مميزة”.

وأفاد: “أحب التدريب والملعب وأحلم أن يكون لي دور في زيادة عدد المحترفين المصريين في أوروبا، لأنه لن يكون لدينا منتخب قوي قبل أن يكون لدينا 15 أو 20 لاعباً محترفاً في أفضل دوريات العالم”.

وأتم: “بدأت مشروعًا خاصًا بي ولدي 32 طفلا مقيمين معي إقامة دائمة ومتعاقد أيضًا مع مدرسة مميزة جدًا يدرسون للأولاد، وليس هدف المشروع تطوير لاعب كرة قدم فقط بل هدفي أطور اللاعب كإنسان من ناحية الطب النفسي الرياضي، بجانب الناحية الفنية”.

Após o empate contra o Corinthians fora de casa, os jogadores do Ceará vibraram com o resultado e aprovaram a atuação da equipe. Apesar de continuar sem vencer na competição, a postura ao longo dos 90 minutos foi destacada pelo elenco.

O goleiro Everson, um dos principais jogadores do Vozão no confronto, revelou que o Ceará veio com a intenção de sair com pelo menos um empate.

“A gente até estava comentando antes que o empate na Arena Corinthians não é um mal resultado. Fizemos um bom jogo defensivamente, defendi algumas bolas, mas jogamos bem e agora é conseguir os resultados para ficar melhor na competição”.

O meia Ricardinho também comemorou o empate diante do atual campeão, mas acredita que, se a concentração fosse maior, o Vozão poderia ter conquistado uma vitória.

“Um baita resultado. Pela maneira que começamos, com o gol na frente, poderíamos ter aproveitado, mas o que vale foi a determinação da equipe, ter essa gana de ter a bola no campo do adversário. Temos que aumentar o nível de concentração do time e trabalhar mais”, analisou.

Younis Khan and Shoaib Akhtar were the biggest beneficiaries in the new list of central contracts given to 19 players by the Pakistan board. Neither player was given a contract last year, but they are now among the seven men in the top category of contracts given out for the six-month period starting January 2011. Kamran Akmal, too, was in the top bracket a day after his abysmal performance behind the stumps against New Zealand in the World Cup.Legspinner Danish Kaneria was the worst hit, not finding a place in the list after having been awarded a Category A contract last year. Imran Farhat, Faisal Iqbal and Fawad Alam were among the other players overlooked by the PCB. Kaneria was the subject of an inquiry by the PCB prior to the announcement of the World cup squad, along with Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik. While Kamran was picked in the fifteen, Kaneria and Malik were ignored and have now also found their names missing from the list of contracted players.Misbah-ul-haq has moved up a grade from a Category B contract to Category A, following a successful year in which he assumed captaincy of Pakistan’s Test side. Asad Shafiq and Ahmed Shehzad, both of who are in Pakistan’s World Cup squad have been given Category C contracts. West Indies’ chances at the World Cup have been dealt a huge blow as their allrounder Dwayne Bravo will miss the rest of their campaign after been ruled out for a minimum of four weeks due to a knee injury he picked up in the match against South Africa on Thursday. The West Indies Cricket Board said an MRI scan on Bravo’s left knee had revealed a sprained ligament and torn knee cartilage, and he would return home for further assessment.The board have not yet named a replacement for Bravo, as they are in the process of applying to the ICC to call someone else in. Bravo would have been certain to miss the entire league phase of the tournament and may not have been fully rehabilitated by the knockout stage either, and West Indies have decided to replace him in their fifteen.Bravo sustained the injury while fielding off his own bowling, during his third over in West Indies’ game against South Africa. Attempting to change direction in his follow through and cut off a drive from Graeme Smith, he swivelled awkwardly and immediately fell to the ground, clutching his knee. He was led off the field, and took no further part in that match.West Indies have now lost three players to injury in a week, with opener Adrian Barath and wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh also forced to fly home before they had even played their first match. Bravo, though, will be the one West Indies miss the most, as he is the vice-captain of the side and an important ingredient in both their batting line-up and bowling attack.”This is a blow for us. Dwayne is our vice-captain and one of the key members of our team,” West Indies coach Ottis Gibson said. “He has been showing good form with the bat and batted well against South Africa on Thursday. Resuming their first innings at 350 for 8, Lahore Shalimar could only add five runs, conceding a lead of 198, as Kashif Siddiq finished with four wickets. Their second innings ran into early trouble and, when they were reduced to 58 for 3, SBP were the favourites. Usman Salahuddin and Rana Adnan, however, joined hands to raise 112 and push their side to safety. Both batsmen scored 72, though Salahuddin fell with stumps in sight.Hyderabad held on to resist Abbottabad’s push for a win at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, and limited them to three points, keeping them at second in the league table. Resuming at 70 for 0, Hyderabad lost wickets regularly, but Abbottabad fell three wickets short despite using nine bowlers.
